About Us

Becky and Ryan met in August 2003. Becky had just returned to Massachusetts from grad school in New York. Ryan was living in Oxford, working at Raytheon, and half way to getting his grad degree at Emerson College in Boston.

The two met through Yahoo Personals. Because she only signed up for a free account, Becky couldn't initiate conversations with other people. Ryan's profile had caught her eye but she couldn't contact him. Two days later, what shoud appear in her inbox but an email from Ryan. After two weeks of talking they went out on their first date and the rest as they say is "history."

Was it fate? As we started dating we realized how much our lives have crossed paths, yet we had never met face to face. Both of our mothers had worked at Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster and ocassionally struck up conversation with one another about our college search trials and tribulations. We both toured a college in the middle of nowhere in New Hampshire. And the biggest coinicidence of all is that we both worked at the same Papa Ginos at the same time in high school. We really don't know to this day if our shifts crossed paths or we simply didn't notice one another but we remember all the same people who worked there. Becky only lasted about eight months before running for the hills from that job but Ryan continued on through college. Whenever we make pizza at home he is our official dough tosser!

First Date. Their first date was on Sunday, August 24, and started off at Crystal Caves Mini Golf in Auburn, Mass. Becky proceeded to almost walk right past the only guy waiting out front! She also kicked butt in mini golf with a 49 (par 42) and Ryan scored a 60. They then went to dinner at the 99 Restaurant across the street and continued the date by going to see the movie Seabiscuit.

The Proposal. After four years together it was no surprise that we knew we wanted to get married. After grad degrees, starting a business, job changes and moving in together, the dust finally settled. What's a guy to do when a girl doesn't support the diamond industry, she picks out her own unique pink sapphire ring (see pic in photo gallery). After a nice dinner out, five days after her 30th birthday, Ryan surprised Becky by proposing at the same mini golf place where they had their first date. That's right...it was mid-March, cold out, the place was shut down for the winter and just as we arrived it started to snow. But if you know us, you know we don't do anything cookie cutter.
